Darjeeling Queen of hills is a small hill town located in the West Bengal state of India, at an elevation of just over 2000 m of height. Its a cool town that’s famous for holiday destination in India.

Walking along Darjeeling one will get a great chance to see some of the great views of the Himalayas, discover some Buddhist monasteries, colonial churches and just tour through the peaceful city. Darjeeling is also known throughout the world for its production of tea.


Some major tourist attraction in Darjeeling are The Dhirdham Temple, Dhirdham Temple built in the style of Kathmandu’s Padhupatinath Temple it adds to the varied religious architectural style of Darjeeling. Batasay (Batasia) Loop is about 5 km far from Darjeeling and this Railway Loop is marvelous feat of engineering .


It is fascinating to watch the toy train wind its way round the Loop. The war memorial constructed in the memory of brave sons of Darjeeling who died in different action since 1947, is worth a visit.


A glorious view of snowy peak and town can be seen feom this place. Ghoom is another place which ia two kilometers from Darjeeling is the town of Ghoom which is the highest railway station in the world. It also has a monastery and is definitely worth visiting.


Darjeeling Tea Garden famously known as the Champagne of teas, is generally regarded as world’s best tea, fetching the highest price at auction. The Darjeeling Tea Garden are beautifully located and the banglows of the managers pretty without exception. The Tea Gardens are worth visiting to observe the way tea is manufactured . The Mall and Chowrasta is beautifully located. The Mall road originates and culminates at the chowrasta, the hub of Darjeeling town and a goof place to sit and relax .


A visit to Tiger Hill before dawn is a must for the visitors who want to see sunrise over the Mt.Kancenjanga. Tiger Hill is 2590m above sea level. Tiger Hill is the highest point in the area which provides the most exotic view of the kanchenjanga peaks. monasteries around Darjeeling are entralling . There are well over dozen Buddhist monasteries in Darjeeling . The best known is the Yiga Choeling monastery, or the Ghoom Monastery , Darjeeling’s oldest , founded in 1850. Other monasteries worth visiting are Dali Monastery and the Bhutia Busti Monastery.


Some other places worth visiting are — Singalila National Park, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Observatory Hill , Neora Valley National Park. Darjeeling the Queen of Hills in the foothills of Himalayas. It is the third most googled travel destination among all the tourist spots in India.
